Opportunities
We’re hiring a Development Lead
6 months fixed-term consultancy or employment · 3 days/week · East Suffolk based · £200/day or £38k FTE pro-rata
Natural Habitat brings land and people together. We connect schools, farmers, refugee communities and diverse local groups through nature-based learning and inclusive land-based experiences across the Blyth Valley and wider Suffolk — and after three years of significant impact, we are now entering an exciting new chapter.
We are looking for an experienced Development Lead to take us through a focused six-month consolidation period: securing the funding foundations that will allow Natural Habitat to reactivate its programmes and grow sustainably. This is a role with a clear purpose and genuine scope to evolve – the right person will have the opportunity to shape what the organisation becomes next.
You will lead on fundraising and income development, build and steward key funder relationships, and work closely with the board on strategic direction. We are looking for someone with a demonstrable track record in grant fundraising, strong bid-writing skills, strategic decision-making and sound judgment to guide a small charity through a period of transition.
This role is offered on either a self-employed consultancy or employed basis depending on candidate preference.
Closing date: Friday 10 July 2026
