How we started
What started as a conversation between friends – Our vision goes beyond conservation – it’s about creating a shared space for learning, action, and sustainable growth. Through collaborative projects, educational programmes, and community initiatives, we’re working to inspire others to reconnect with the natural world and embrace practices that benefit both land and community.
Today, we are fortunate to have access to diverse parcels of land, each offering unique opportunities to explore innovative and varied land-use practices. As we grow, so too does our commitment to sharing the successes, challenges, and stories we uncover along the way. We believe that by learning from the land and from each other, we can safeguard our land for current and future generations.

Looking ahead
As we move forward, we remain focused on expanding our impact. We aim to develop initiatives that blend education with action, celebrating and sharing existing land based research, as well as creating new opportunities that advance access to learning from sustainable farming and land management. Our goal is to move towards providing training and skill-building pathways for volunteers, students, and diverse community members, sharing tools for a future rooted in connected resilient landscapes.

What is Natural Habitat?
Natural Habitat works at the intersection of landscape conservation, food and community. We create opportunities for people to connect with local landscapes, food systems and nature through shared experiences, learning and collaboration. By bringing together the perspectives of nature supporting practitioners – including artists, farmers, chefs and ecologists – with schools and diverse communities, we help build the social foundations that support biodiversity, sustainable land use and resilient local food systems.
